Catatonic:
Characterized by disturbances of movement. Catatonic Schizophrenics may be completely immobile or move randomly and rapidly. They may not speak for hours at a time. They may even repeat what you do or say without even knowing it.
Paranoid:
Characterized by illusions and auditory hallucinations but function relativity normal and still express affection.
Undifferentiated:
Characterized by having two or more of the following symptoms: hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech and/or behavior, catatonic behavior or negative symptoms, but the patient does not qualify for diagnosis of paranoid, catatonic, or disorganized Schizophrenia.
Disorganized:
Characterized strange or disorganized speech or actions, and odd and/or inappropriate emotions. Disorganized Schizophrenics may laugh at random things that have nothing to do with what they are saying or doing. Their behavior may disturb normal activities such as bathing, cooking, or getting dressed.
Residual:
Characterized by a past of having at least one episode of Schizophrenia, but doesn't have current symptoms (disorganized speech and/or behavior, hallucinations, delusions). This may be a transition between a full-blown episode and complete remission. This may continue for years without any psychotic episode.
